Is World Radio free?
Yes — World Radio is completely free. There's no subscription and no sign-up required. The app is supported by ads.
Why do some stations not play?
Stations are streamed live from their own servers. If one doesn't play, it's usually because that station's stream is temporarily offline, has moved, or is geo-restricted in your region — none of which the app controls. Trying another station usually confirms your connection is fine. Broken streams are hidden automatically where possible.
How do I add my own station?
Open a country and tap to add stations from the built-in directory of thousands of live stations, or search for a specific one. You can reorder your list, keep favorites at the top, and long-press to remove stations you added — full control over your station list.
How does the radio alarm clock work?
Set a time, choose the days, and pick the station that starts your morning. World Radio uses the system exact-alarm scheduler, so the alarm fires reliably at the set time and wakes you to live radio instead of a beep — even after a device restart.
Why does the equalizer lower the volume on some devices?
On some devices the equalizer previously reduced overall volume when boosting bands. This has been improved in the latest version so the equalizer keeps the sound at full level while still preventing distortion. Make sure you're on the newest version from Google Play.
Does it work in the car?
Yes. Car Mode offers big, simple, glance-friendly controls designed for driving, with Bluetooth support and a landscape layout that keeps the screen on so you can keep your eyes on the road.
